Attempting to be a good demonstrator 😁, I ventured into the realms of going Live on my Facebook page. That didn't happen. Apparently Meta recently made a change to not allowing "lives" from pages that have less than 100 followers. Ahhh- explains part of the endless reels that are everywhere. I just didn't think a reel would be appropriate for my post. Although I am in the process of learning how to produce reels. It's a major goal- and many thanks to those who are followers already, and for sharing to friends and getting them to become followers too! We'll get there- it just may take a little bit.

Back to watercolor!

In addition to the wet on wet technique covered in my Facebook video, I really wanted to cover several ways to use the Stampin' Pads as watercolors.

One of my most exciting Stampin' Up! tools that I discovered is that of the Blender Pens. They come in sets of 3 and are double ended moisturized clear brush pens. When brushed over watercolor pencils, the pens act as a brush, spreading and blending the colors within your stamped image (Stazon ink recommended). While you have your Blender Pens out, you can use them to paint in color using the Stampin' Pads. I like dabbing on color from a stamp pad onto an acrylic stamp block(similar to their use in the video using water painters), using it as my palette to gather the ink/paint on the tip of my Blender pen, then paint in the stamped image. It's a joy to use them that way. Very quick, easy and waterless. To clean the tips of the Blender Pens, just repeatedly swipe the pen tip on a paper towel or rag until it renders no more color. Since the colors sometimes stain the Blender Pen tip, I usually try to re-use the same color of pen for similar ink colors in future uses.

And be sure to use the Watercolor Paper from Stampin' Up! It's the best paper to use for wet media and is easily cut to size in the trimmer or using dies.

I hope these watercolor tips and tricks help you on your venture into a different way of applying color to your stamped images!
